Blixt is an energy research and development company in Austin, Texas. We work where electromagnetics, materials, and power infrastructure meet — and where the published theory has not caught up with what the hardware is being asked to do.
The practice
The company was founded in 2021 to do a specific kind of work: technical questions that sit between engineering and physics, where the honest answer requires building something and measuring it rather than citing a datasheet.
That means the same people define the problem, wind the coil, hold the probe, and write the report. Nothing is handed down a chain and nothing is subcontracted to someone who was not in the room when the question was framed.
Blixt keeps its own lab so that a promising thread does not have to wait for a client to fund it. Several of our engagements began as internal work we could not let go of.
The interesting engineering is almost always in the boundary — not in the machine bolted to it.

Negative results are deliverables
Knowing an approach does not work is worth what it cost to find out.
Physics first, then hardware
The boundary conditions decide the machine. We settle those before we cut metal.
